This checklist is the online version of the upcoming printed checklists of lichens and lichenicolous fungi in Germany. The printed version will be published in German as a volume of "Naturschutz und Biologische Vielfalt" and will be included in the Red Data Book of threatened lichens and lichenicolous fungi in Germany, which is written by the same authors and edited by the Bundesamt für Naturschutz (German Federal Nature Conservation Agency).

The checklist is the result of a multiple-author cooperation, who contributed to the checklist and the Red Data Book. This website will be used to publish regular updates on the German lichen flora, which will not be possible in the printed version. Please contribute with corrections and supplements to the checklist by mailing them to Markus Hauck (mhauck [at] gwdg.de).

Updates since version #1 are printed in blue font.

The checklist is divided into three separate lists for

lichens (lichen-forming fungi),
lichenicolous fungi,
non-lichenized fungi closely related to lichens and traditionally treated in lichenology.
