Home How to cite this site Terms & conditions Disclaimer Contact Site tutorial / Help Links	Hilara allogastra Subspecies Original description Synonyms Hilara heterogastra Nowicki, 1868 (nec Loew, 1857) (junior homonym) Hilara allogastra Chvála, 2001 Hilara abdominalis auct. nec Zetterstedt, 1838 (very frequent misidentification prior to the work of Chvala 2001) Note: the name Hilara heterogastra Nowicki, 1868 is a junior homonym of Hilara heterogastra Loew, 1857, a South African species that is now placed in Hilarempis. Chvala erected Hilara allogastra as a new name for Hilara heterogastra Nowicki and recognized it as a bona species. It has to be noted, however, that Hilara allogastra (as H. heterogastra) has been frequently misidentified as Hilara abdominalis and most older records of Hilara abdominalis in the literature are actually Hilara allogastra (see Chvala 2001 for examples of misidentifications).
