Allotrichoma sciens is regarded as a
bona species by some authors (e.g. Mathis and
Zatwarnicki (1995)). However, there seem to be
no clear differences between Allotrichoma sciens
and Allotrichoma laterale and the two names are
regarded as synonyms by most authors.
Allotrichoma pseudolaterale has been synonymised
by Stuke (2022).

Distribution
Widely distributed in Europe without the
northern parts, northern Africa, middle east and
central Asia.
