This species is very similar to Allotrichoma
filiforme and is sometimes regarded as synonym.
However, there are subtle but constant
differences in the bristle pattern on the
genitalia: A. strandi has three bristles on the
surstyli, A. filiforme has four. More work is
necessary to investigate the species status of
A. strandi.
