Synonyms
Hydrellia alboguttata Loew, 1845
Note: this species received a rather detailed description by Loew.
Nevertheless, it cannot be identified with any known species. The
whereabouts of the types are unknown; thus the identity of Hydrellia
alboguttata cannot currently be established. It is very likely that it
is a synonym of another Ephydridae (not necessarily a Hydrellia
species), but it is also possible that it is a bona species that has
not been recorded since its original description.

Only known from the original description: Nordhausen near Kassel
(Germany).
