description

Copenhagen. p. 346.
The holotype is of unknown sex, deposited with the ZMUC in Copenhagen.
The holotype is damaged and in bad condition (Sueyoshi et al., 2009).
Type locality is "Gallia" interpreted as France.

Identification
Size ranges between 5,8 to 11,0 mm.
Distribution
Widely distributed in Europe, but not a common species. Recorded from
most European countries
from France in the west to St. Petersburg (Russia) in the east. It has
been introduced in Australia to control millipede pest species.
Biology
The imagines fly from April to July. The larvae are obligate parasites
of millipedes (genus Ommatoiulus).
