Original description

Synonyms
Musca variegata De Geer, 1776 (nec Scopoli, 1763) (junior homonym)
Musca chaerophylli Fabricius, 1798
Euthycera chaerophylli (Fabricius, 1798)
Pherbina flavescens Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830
Tetanocera irrorata Macquart, 1835 (unclear synonym)
Lunigera morio Meyer, 1953

The nominal taxon Lunigera morio has been described as a bona species, but is based on a single aberrant
dark female specimen of E. chaerophylli. The status of the nominal taxon Tetanocera irrorata is unclear. It seems to be a color variant of E. chaerophylli, but this requires confirmation.
