Most of the taxa that are now synonymized with Agathis fuscipennis have
been described as separate species and some authors still regard them
as bonae species. However, the morphological characters (mainly the
shape of the pterostigma and the color of the maxillary palp) are
variable even among the offspring of a single female (Simbolotti and
van Achterberg 1999). Thus I follow Simbolotti and van Achterberg (1999) in their synonymy.

Distribution
In Europe recorded from Austria, Germany,
Netherlands, France, UK, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Spain, Sweden. Also
recorded from Turkey, Russia, and northern Africa.
