This species has long been assigned to the genus Agathis. Simbolotti
and van Achterberg (1999) have redefined the generic limits and have
reassigned this species to the genus Bassus. Both genera are very
similar and their relationship requires much more work on the genetics,
ecology and morphology of the species. Currently, the genera are just
separated by the shape of the malar triangle.
Identification
Distribution
Recorded from Germany, Netherlands. Introduced in
northern America for the control of pest moth species.
