Closterocerus lanassa (Walker, 1839)
Eulophus debilis Foerster, 1841 (p. 42) (unclear synonym; see below)
Closterocerus debilis (Foerster, 1841)

Note: The taxon Eulophus debilis has been described by Foerster (1841) in a short note that is not sufficient to recognize the species on the basis of this description alone. Boucek (1994) has revised Hymenoptera material in the Naturhistorisches Museum Wien some of which he suggested to be material from Foerster´s early collections in the 1840´s. Several specimens of this material are labelled "Secodes debilis"; these specimens are not conspecific. One of these specimens was selected as the lectotype of Eulophus debilis by Boucek (1994), because it "fits well the original description". Boucek (1994) states that this lectotype specimen is conspecific with the nominal Entedon lanassa and therefore placed the name in synonymy. However, I am not fully convinced by Boucek´s action. The specimen selected by Boucek (1994) might indeed be conspecific with Closterocerus lanassa, but it might not be the specimen of Eulophus debilis described by Foerster (1841). Many of the color characters given in the original description by Foerster (1841) do not fit the lectotype description of Closterocerus lanassa. For example, the antennae of Eulophus debilis are described as yellow, whereas the antennae of Closterocerus lanassa are dark; the gaster of Eulophus debilis is described as green with violet along the dorsal side, whereas the gaster of Closterocerus lanassa is golden-green. Thus, it is unclear wether the specimen selected as the lectotype of Eulophus debilis by Boucek (1994) is indeed the correct specimen that was the basis for the original description.
