Spudaeus facialis Thomson, 1894

Note: the problematic identity of "discolor"
and "facialis" has been reviewed by Horstmann
(2011) and he concluded that the lectotypes of
both taxa are conspecific. The lectotypes show
differences in size and coloration, but there
are additional specimens that are intermediate
between them. This indicates that the
differences in size and color fall within the
intraspecific variation of this species.
Identification
Distribution
Not yet recorded from Germany, but probably
overlooked due to the difficult
identification.
