The type of Eridontomerus
illiesi
Szelenyi,
1981 has been investigated by Stojanova (2010) and
she concludes that this name is a synonym of Cryptopristus caliginosus.
I follow this notion here.
The nearctic taxon Cryptopristus harrisii has been synonymized with the
present species, but this is not accepted here.
