The nominal Ichneumon rodophthalmus has been tentatively synonymized
with thes present species, but in fact the original description is
insufficient and type do not exist. Grissell (1995) suggests that this
name might refer to a species of Torymus rather than Monodontomerus.
Thus, this is a doubtful name and I retain it in the synonymy of the
present species.
