Synonyms
Synonymy of Chesias rufata rufata:
Phalaena rufata Fabricius, 1775
Chesias rufata (Fabricius, 1775)
Chesias rufata rufata (Fabricius, 1775)
Phalaena bombycata Donovan, 1806
Note: the nomenclatural priority of the two names obliquaria and rufata
is unclear: they are currently regarded as conspecific (at the
subspecies level), and both have been published in 1775. I provisionally
use here the currently more widely used name rufata, until the exact
publication dates of obliquaria and rufata have been established.
