subspecies are recognized. Other authors regard the present taxon as a subspecies or individual aberration of Glyphipterix equitella. However, these forms
differ in the morphology of the male genitalia, and have greatly overlapping (sympatric) ranges. Thus, these
taxa should be regarded as separate species.

the present species.
