Distribution
This species is widely distributed in Germany, but appears to be quite rare.
Meerkötter (2016) lists all records for Bayern: there are only a handful of collected specimens, but the
localities are scattered across Bayern (Oberpfalz, Oberfranken, Mittelfranken, Oberbayern).
Biology
The hostplant of the species are several Salix species, especially those
with broader leaf shape (e.g. Salix cinerea, Salix caprea). The larvae
live within swellings in the twigs of the bushes and trees
that are usually termed "galls". The larvae pupate within the gall and
the imagines eclose in the summer months (mainly in July).
