Euhyponomeutoides albithoracellus
Euhyponomeutoides albithoracella
Note: the gender of the genus name is unclear. In the absence of data as
to its grammatical gender, I provisionally consider it to be of
masculine gender by default.
Note: there is disagreement whether the many "-ellus, -ella, -ellum"
endings of species epithets in the microlepidoptera should be treated as
nouns in apposition or as adjectival forms. I regard these names as
adjectival forms and give a full discussion why I think so in the
"Synonyms" section of Nematopogon pilellus.
Since I provisionally regard Euhyponomeutoides as masculine, the
correct form of the species epithet is therefore albithoracellus.
