Hemerobius
marginatus

|
Subspecies
Northern
scandinavian specimens have been described as a
separate subspecies Hemerobius marginatus
lapponicus. However, this taxon is not
parapatric to the nominate form and thus is
probably no subspecies, but likely represents
only an environmental (i.e. non-genetic)
modification caused by the influence of the cold
climate and limited food ressources on the
development and growth of the individuals. It is
currently not recognized and placed in synonymy,
but more work on its validity is nevertheless
desireable. Currently, no subspecies are
recognized.
