Note: Hemerobius schedli Hölzel, 1970 and
Hemerobius handschini Tjeder, 1957 are sometimes
regarded as synonyms of the present species;
however, I regard them as separate species until
more data on their taxonomy is available.
Hemerobius schedli does not occur in Germany.
Note: Hemerobius rufescens, a taxon described
from Austria, is a nomen dubium, but based on
its description is likely to be identical with
Hemerobius nitidulus (see Aspöck et al.
(2001)).
