Fritillaria borealis

Subspecies
(1) Fritillaria borealis borealis
(2) Fritillaria borealis acuta
(3) Fritillaria borealis truncata
In
addition to the nominate subspecies, two
subspecies are recognized, that are usually called
"cold" and "warm water forms". It is unclear
whether the difference is genetic or modificatory.
If the difference is genetic, then the two forms
are very likely separate species, not subspecies
of the present species.
