Dentalium entalis

Subspecies
Some authors accept Dentalium entalis stimpsoni from
the northwestern Atlantic ocean as a separate subspecies. Poppe and
Goto (2000) doubt this status as they do not find any differences in
the shells of the two forms. The two forms, however, might differ in
other ways and I accept them as separate subspecies for the time being.
