HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASSES
Each student is required to give a presentation on a specific variety of English. Contents and distribution into groups will be announced in Session 1. The base text for these presentations is Hogg, R., et al., eds., The Cambridge History of the English Language, 6 vols. (Cambridge, 1992-2001).
Prepare the relevant passages in the textbook McArthur, T., Oxford Guide to World English (Oxford, 2002). Note all problems and questions for
discussion in class.
You are required to consult further publications for more information, especially the additional files in Stud IP. Here you can find a useful Bibliography with further publications.
ASSESSMENT FACTORS
