HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASSES
Study the textbook: M. Görlach,
A Textual History of Scots (Heidelberg, 2002). Prepare or translate the relevant chapters or texts, and note all problems and questions for discussion in class. It is recommended that you consult
further publications for more information, for example, C. Jones, ed., The Edinburgh History of the Scots Language (Edinburgh, 1997), or C. Jones, The English Language in Scotland (East Linton, 2002).
If you are scheduled to give a presentation on a specific text, prepare this with your group.
ASSESSMENT FACTORS
Final examination. Date tba.
Regular participation and preparation as well as commitment in class. This may
be taken into account when calculating the final mark.
