ASSESSMENT

Here you find what you need to do in order to pass this course:

HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASSES

  • Study the course book: R. Hogg, An Introduction to Old English (Edinburgh, 2002). Prepare the relevant pages, and note all problems and arising questions for discussion in class. It is recommended that you consult further publications for more information, especially B. Mitchell and F. C. Robinson, A Guide to Old English, 6th ed. (Oxford, 2001). A good text collection with facing translations covering both the Old English and the Middle English period is E. Treharne, ed., Old and Middle English: an Anthology (Oxford, 2000).

  • Study and prepare any relevant handouts sent out by e-mail and found in the folder labelled Traxel Proseminar in the departmental library. Note all problems and arising questions for discussion in class.

  • Here you can find a Bibliography with further publications.

  • ASSESSMENT FACTORS

  • Piece of coursework to be handed in by 16 April (discussion of essay titles in final session).
