Sascha Alexeyenko
I am a postdoctoral researcher in linguistics at the University of Göttingen. Currently I work in the DFG project "Constraints on Linearization in Nominal Modification" together with Hedde Zeijlstra, which investigates word order restrictions on complex nominal modifiers in the languages of the world. Before coming to Göttingen, I also worked at the Universities of Frankfurt, Vienna, and Osnabrück. I did my PhD in linguistics and cognitive science at the University of Osnabrück under the supervision of Peter Bosch; my dissertation was concerned with the syntax and semantics of manner modification.
My work lies at the interface of syntax and semantics of natural languages, and I am also interested in linguistic typology. Some of the topics I have worked on can be found under ongoing projects below and under research.
At the moment, I am constructing a typological database of nominal modification, which collects systematic information about the types of nominal modifiers available in the languages of the world, their linearization patterns, and some further properties. The first batch of data will soon be available online as a CLLD app.
