General research interests
in our group is devoted to synthetic and
mechanistic coordination chemistry of transition
metals. We are particularly interested
in the development of new ligand systems
that allow the synthesis of unusual complexes.
By rational design of the coordination
site with appropriate new ligand systems
we hope to activate a variety of substrate
molecules. In recent years we have focused
on anionic nitrogen-based ligands, such
as azolate and polydentate amido ligands.
Research provides basic information on
the understanding of bonding and reactivity
within the investigated systems. Target
molecules are ultimately catalysts in technical
as well as biological relevant processes.
