Biology
Parasitizes a large spectrum of wild and domestic animals. This species is also the main tick parasite species of humans. The species prefers larger mammal species like sheep, goats, cattle, dogs, deer, and humans. Only the larvae and nymphs also parasitize on smaller mammals, birds and reptiles.
