Subspecies
The subspecies Cyclosa conica zamezai Franganillo,
1909 has been described from Spain, but has remained a doubtful taxon
since its description. Breitling et al. 2016
have re-assessed this taxon and conclude that it cannot be confidently
identified; it is unlikely to be identical with Cyclosa conica and I
therefore neither accept it as a valid subspecies, nor as a synonym of
the present species.

Note: Cyclosa conica zamezai is unlikely to be a subtaxon or synonym of the present species (see Breitling et al. 2016) and I therefore do not include it in its synonymy.
Of the many color variants named by Strand and Simon those that had not
been synonymized before, have finally all been synonymized by Breitling et al. 2016.
