Synonyms
Cicada cunicularia Linnaeus, 1767
Cixius cunicularius (Linnaeus, 1767)


Identification
Size: male between 5.8 to 6.9 mm; female larger, between 6.2 to 7.4 mm.


Distribution
Widely distributed; palearctic.


Biology
Phenology: adults occur from May to September (one generation) and the larvae overwinter.
Habitat: the species is known from deciduous trees and shrubs, preferrably in dry and sunny edges of forests and hedges.
