Note: The work by Brahm (1790)
was printed in several installments. Brahm himself apologizes in his
introduction ("Vorbericht", p. LV) to the reader for the many
typographical errors in the first six installments. He writes that he
was not present during the printing of these portions of his book and
therefore could not proofread them. This may thus explain why the
present species is listed as "Callidium Herbstii" in the systematic part
at the beginning of the book (that has not been proofread by Brahm),
but is then properly described in the second volume as "Leptura
Herbstii".
