Distribution

Not
native to Germany, but sometimes introduced with wood products. Because
not all authors separate the two species Morimus funereus and Morimus
asper, it is unclear which of the two has been recorded and therefore I
include both species here. Morimus funereus/Morimus asper has been
recorded from Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Sachsen-Anhalt and Thüringen,
and doubtfully also from Bayern.
