This species has long been placed in the genus Corymbia Des Gozis, 1886,
but this name is a junior homonym of Corymbia Walker, 1865, a genus of
Lepidoptera. The oldest available name that is not a homonym is
Stictoleptura Casey, 1924. This species has also been placed in Leptura
Linnaeus, 1758 by several authors, but in fact does not belong there.
