Body length 5-9 mm.

Distribution
|
Recorded
from Central and southern parts of North Europe. In Germany reported
from most Länder, except for Niedersachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt and
Thüringen. Apparently a rare species in Germany, most records date from
before 1980, with many records being older than the 1900s.

Biology

An
aquatic species, found in rivers and lakes. It lives on water plants (e.
g. Myriophyllum, Potamogeton), mainly on immersed plant parts.
