Distribution
The species is native to Japan, but has been
introduced elsewhere, probably with plant trade. For example, it is a
plant pest species in the USA. Since the early 2010s the species is also
recorded in continental Europe, with increasing frequency. Records
exist so far from: Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Two records
exist yet from Germany: one from Bayern (Oberstdorf, Oberallgäu) and one
from Nordrhein-Westfalen (Paderborn) (see
Urban et al. 2019).
