Note: Several authors list the nominal Pegohylemyia brunneilinea
subbrunneilinea Ringdahl, 1934 as a synonym of the present species.
However, Michelsen (2009)
has studied the types of this taxon and has shown that they are in fact
a separate species. This species, Botanophila subbrunneilinea, has not
been recorded from Germany.
