Identification

Distribution
Widely distributed in Europe and recorded from almost all countries. In Asia the species is known from several places in south western, central and north eastern Asia. The species is also reported from Canada and the USA, but the American specimens are most likely not conspecific with Diadocidia ferruginosa. Lastovka and Matile (1972) suggest that the American specimens belong to Diadocidia spinosula or a closely related species (probably a separate new species).
