Note: Macrocera grandis Meunier, 1899 is no
senior homonym, because it is a nomen nudum and
thus is not available for the principle of
homonymy.
Note: Macrocera grandis Boyer de Fonscolombe,
1846 is older than Macrocera grandis Lundstrom,
1912, but belongs to a species of Hymenoptera.
Thus the homonymy of the species names is
disregarded, because they are combined with
homonymous genus names that have been
established for different nominal genera (see
Article 57.8.1 of the International Code of
Zoological Nomenclature).
Note: the nomenclatural impact of Loew, 1850
(???) has not yet been checked.
