Note: please see my notes under Hexatoma bicolor concerning the chimaeric nature of the original description of the taxon bicolor that appears to combine characters of bicolor and gaedii as they are currently understood. The taxon saxonum has been described by Loew (1865) specifically for the short-antenna species and is therefore assigned to gaedii, not bicolor.
