Subspecies
No subspecies
are recognized. There is disagreement about
the status of the taxon atlantica. The name
refers to the dark form, but this form shows
significant differences in frequency
correlated with geography; therefore some
authors regard it as subspecies. I list this
taxon in the synonymy, until more information
on the biogeography and population genetics of
Monalocoris filicis are available.
