Subspecies

(1) Orthotylus ericetorum ericetorum (Fallen, 1807)
(2) Orthotylus ericetorum arboreae Wagner, 1970
(3) Orthotylus ericetorum corsicensis Wagner, 1956
Several other subspecies have been described, but their status is
discussed controversially. Most of them are currently placed in synonymy
(see below). Orthotylus stysi Koziskova, 1967 (from Italy and the
Iberian Peninsula) is currently regarded as a separate species.
Orthotylus eurynome Kirkaldy, 1902 (from Australia) has been erroneously
synonymized with Orthotylus ericetorum; it is a separate species.
