Original description
The holotype is a female specimen in the Natural History Museum London.


Synonyms
Asecodes lineophagum Hansson et Hambaeck, 2013 (p. 56)
Type locality: Uppland, Ludden, Sweden.


Identification
Body size of the female 1-1.8 mm, the male is slightly smaller: 0.9-1.4 mm.

Distribution
So far this species is only known from Sweden and Norway. However, because it has been confused with Asecodes lucens before 2013, its true range is currently unclear and future records of this species complex should be carefully checked for their species identity.
