subspecies are recognized. However, geographical differences in head
and thorax coloration and in antennal morphology between European
samples and Chinese samples have been noted by Zhu and Huang (2001).
These authors also noted that specimens from the Balcans differ
slightly from other samples. This is a hint that several subspecies or
even separate species might be involved.
