Note: this taxon has long been regarded as a synonym of Eupelmus urozonus, but has been reinstated as a separate species by Al khatib et al. (2014). The male and the female have originally been described as two different species in two different genera by Ratzeburg (1844)
in the same book. The female has been described as Eupelmus azureus,
and the male has been described as Pteromalus cordairii. The name
Eupelmus azureus is given priority over Pteromalus cordairii by Al khatib et al. (2014) thus acting as the First Reviser. The specific name azureus is therefore the valid name.
