Elachista consortella Stainton, 1851
Cosmiotes

(Stainton, 1851)
Note: The taxonomic subdivisions of the
Elachistidae are debated. A number of genera
have been described that show little evidence
of monophyly and might render other genera
paraphyletic. Kaila (1999) has performed a
cladistic analysis of the Elachistidae. This
analysis revealed several clearly monophyletic
groups and the species formerly placed in
their own genus Cosmiotes are clearly nested
within a monophyletic Elachista. Thus, Kaila
(1999) synonymized Cosmiotes with Elachista.
