Linnaeus (1758) used all species epithets ending in "-dactylus/a/um" clearly as an adjective: for example he used the combination "Phalaena Alucita pentadactyla" for the present species, but he used e.g. "Bradypus tridactylus" (on page 34) for the pale-throated sloth. Thus, I reject here the notion that the species epithet could be regarded as a noun in apposition and therefore it has to agree in gender with the genus name (Article 31.2). Since the gender of Pterophorus is male, the correct valid name is Pterophorus pentadactylus.
