Some authors regard Euzophera egeriella (Milliere, 1869) (Distribution:
southern France) as a synonym of Euzophera bigella. Roesler (1973),
however, gives genital morphology characters that separate the two
species.

Europe
without the northern parts, western and central Asia, northern Africa.
In Germany recorded from Rheinland-Pfalz, Brandenburg, Berlin, Bayern,
and Nordrhein-Westfalen.
