Note: the species epithet is often changed to
junci. This is incorrect. The original spelling
is juncorum, which is the correct genitive
plural of juncus (lat. "rush") and thus is not
to be emended.

Widely
distributed in Europe and recorded from
virtually all countries. Also recorded from
several localities in Asia.
