Release 5 Root Window Command Definitions

The following table contains simple definitions of the commands found with the Release 5 Root Window.

Release 5
Root Window
	Attached Tab Shows the processes to which TotalView is attached.
	Unattached Tab Shows the processes to which TotalView could attach.
	Groups Tab Shows the groups into which your processes and threads are organized.
	Log Tab Shows a listing of debugging events.
File
	New Program Opens a new process.
	Search Path Sets the directory search path for locating source files.
	Preferences Defines TotalView behaviors.
	Save Pane Writes the contents of one of the Root Window's pages to a file or pipes the contents to a program.
	Exit Exits from TotalView.
Edit
	Undo Undoes the effect of the current editing change.
	Cut Copies the current selection to the clipboard and then deletes it. This is always grayed out in the Root Window.
	Copy Copies the current selection to the clipboard.
	Paste Pastes the contents of the clipboard at the current cursor location.
	Delete Deletes the selected text without copying it to the clipboard. This is always grayed out in the Root Window.
	Find Searches for text in the current page.
	Find Again Executes the search defined by the previous Find command starting at the current cursor position.
View
	Dive Opens the selected process in a Process Window. If the window already exists for the process, this window is popped to the top of the display.
	Dive Anew Opens the selected process in a new Process Window. A new window is always opened, even if a window already exists for the process.
Tools
	Restart Checkpoint Restart a previously checkpointed process. (SGI only)
	PVM Tasks Displays information about PVM tasks and hosts.
	Command Line Opens an xterm window that you can use to interact with the CLI.
Window
	Update Updates the display of the Root Window.
	Update All Updates the display of all open windows.
