Distribution
Described from France, but originally likely from central and southern
Asia. In the meantime the species has been recorded throughout Europe.
The first record for Germany dates from 2011. Recorded from
Nordrhein-Westfalen and Berlin by
Hörren et al. 2020.
Biology
The host plants are several species of the genus Cercis, especially
Cercis siliquastrum (Judas tree) and Cercis chinensis (Chinese redbud),
but they may also feed on other Fabaceae, e.g. Phaseolus vulgaris
(Common bean) (
Hörren et al. 2020).
