Wang et al. (2007) list the nominal taxon Anthomyia pusio Wiedemann, 1830 (= Fannia pusio) as a synonym of the present species. I am not aware of the nomenclatural act that has proposed this synonymy. In addition, although Fannia leucosticta and Fannia pusio are clearly closely related, all data available to me indicate that they are separate taxa at the species level. I do not adopt the notion that Fannia pusio is conspecific with Fannia leucosticta. Fannia pusio has not been recorded from Germany yet.
